The Bailey Fencibles

Historically, “Fencibles” were locally raised defense regiments made up of men from the community, organized to protect their homeland in times of need. Rooted in local loyalty and service, these units reflected the spirit of ordinary people stepping forward for the good of their neighbors.

Today, the Bailey Fencibles carry forward that tradition—not as a military body, but as a volunteer service corps of Clan Bailey, dedicated to strengthening our communities and preserving our shared heritage.  The Bailey Fencibles serve as a ceremonial guard representing the clan at cultural events and public gatherings.

The Bailey Fencibles are a Clan Bailey volunteer initiative, bringing together members and supporters who are committed to service, heritage, and community.

Our members come from all walks of life, united by:

• A respect for Irish heritage and clan tradition 
• A commitment to helping others 
• A desire to represent Clan Bailey with integrity 

The Fencibles serve as a visible expression of the clan in action—supporting events, outreach, and charitable efforts that reflect the values of our ancestors.

The mission of the Bailey Fencibles is to support Irish heritage, local communities, and charitable causes through volunteerism and service.

This includes:

• Supporting Irish cultural events and clan gatherings 
• Assisting with local community needs and charitable initiatives 
• Promoting the preservation of Irish history, heritage, and identity 
• Providing support to fellow clan members and families when needed 

Our focus is simple: community, culture, and kinship.

In the old clan system, strength came not from titles, but from mutual support and shared responsibility. The Bailey Fencibles reflect that same principle today.

Whether at a Celtic festival, a local fundraiser, or a community outreach effort, the Fencibles represent:
